Everybody loves a “clearance sale” and I am no exception! This little booty came from my favourite frit-maker, extraordinarie, Val Cox. Valerie Cox is an American producer of fine products for flameworkers. The colour combinations of her frits are truly amazing - I just love the endless selections available. I was lucky enough to receive a special package in the mail, full of frits; some blended, others plain. I can’t wait to get to the torch to try them out. Stay tuned for pics next week.

It has been another busy week at home. This week you will find a new addition to my web site the next time you visit. An E-shop icon has appeared on my home page. It will allow you to shop on line and make you purchase using Pay Pal (for overseas buyers) and direct debit for Aussie buyers. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me. I am more than happy to answer any queries you may have.

I have been busy this week building up a collection of work to go on display at the Hilton Hotel in Brisbane, Australia  later on in June. I will share more details with you over the next week or so. This week, my work was added to the Emporium Gallery web site. Make sure you go on over and have a look!

New additions this week include a fabulous new necklace and a groovy bracelet in classic colours of black, sage and ivory.

Mother’s Day has been and gone for another year. I was really spoilt this year with lots of lovely goodies and treats. Hand and feet massages, chocolates and cups of tea were the order of the day! Followed by a lovely cooked meal and out for Sushi as a dinner treat! Why can’t it be Mother’s Day every day? OK then: every weekend????

The web site has undergone a tidy up and gone are all the sold items from each of the feature pages. You can now find these items as reference on the sold page.

There are new items on the beads to goearring, bracelet and necklace pages and you may noticed a “thing” I have for clear at the moment. I’m loving the silver tassels too - they are delicate and intricate  but fun to make and of course look fab on the beautiful hollow focal beads I’ve been making. I’ve been toying with the idea of putting a set of beads on ebay. I’m really not too sure about it yet - but watch this space and I’ll keep you posted!

Below are some beads that I made for myself with some beautiful but temperamental Czech glass. The colour range is just amazing as you can see. The large round focal bead hangs from a simple silk Chinese cord and is just beautiful to wear. I’m not sure what I’ll do with the matching square pillow beads yet. They will most likely be turned into a bracelet of sorts .... whenever I have a few spare minutes that is!

What a whirlwind week it’s been! Got a last minute phone call from my girlfriend Monica last Friday week asking if I was interested in sharing a stall with her at this year’s Stitches and Craft Show at the Brisbane Convention Centre. We had less that 3 days to prepare for it but we decided we would go for it.

It was an amazing experience - good, rushed and indifferent! Good because it made you think on your feet and the adrenaline rush was really what kept us going: rushed, because that’s what it was and indifferent: because after doing all the above for 5 days non-stop, that’s what you felt. It was a wonderful experience and I have to thank Monica from the bottom of my heart because she really did get the whole show on the road and kept it going until I could get out there and help her on the weekend. It was good to meet up with other people in the industry, network with new contacts and check out who the competition is!

It took me all of today to come back to earth and to think about my beads and jewellery. I have some new things up for you to look at. You will find these on the earrings, bracelet and necklace pages.

Oh ....  have I told you about the gallery thing yet? As of last week, you can now find my jewellery (made from my Art glass beads) at the very hip and happenin’ Emporium Gallery in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.                                                              I am so excited to be part of this venture  ..... all the groovy red beads I was making last week were made into very special pieces and delivered to the gallery last week ~ just in time for a beautiful display for Mother’s Day next week.
